Mike Fluck Operations Manager
Mike is a 1987 graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a BS degree. Mike’s career in the food service industry has honed his management and personnel skills. Mike has been with PBC since 1999 and is responsible for the timely conduct of PBC’s billing and coding operation.
Under Mike’s guidance, the overall PBC operation is predicated upon a team based approach that best suits the operation and the individual characteristics and needs of PBC’s hospital and physician clients. A core element of PBC’s overall processing methodology is the use and application of the "Team Concept" approach with a single point of contact (SPOC). Every client is assigned a Team Manager as an ongoing operational support contact. The Team Manager is responsible for all critical business functions and associated staff i.e. customer/payer service, mailroom, coders, data entry, verification, reporting, MIS and on. It is our belief that the team concept with the Team Manager as the key operational contact is the most effective means of establishing control, efficiency and solid communications with our hospital and physician clients. To better manage demand variances, PBC employs a self-directed team concept to manage its billing and coding business. Team members are cross-trained within the team to accommodate vacations, sickness, leave of absence, etc.
The PBC organization culture is an informal, extremely results oriented one. The self-directed processing teams essentially manage their specific businesses and client responsibilities. They are supported by upper management and such areas as technical support to assist them in this role. Consequently, the annual rate of employee turnover is approximately 2-3%.
Accountability is a key element of Mike’s leadership style. The result is an extremely high rate of client retention.
