PBC Web Enabled Outpatient Facility Coding
PBC offers the hospital industry a web-based application for remote outpatient facility coding via the PBC web portal. This program is designed for those hospitals that choose to maintain outpatient facility billing in-house, yet seek to improve upon accuracy through high level outsourced coding. PBC IT professionals will customize this product to your specific needs. Our application is designed to operate with your existing H.I.M. system. Once the secure user name and password have been accepted, the hospital coder is presented with a screen that allows them to easily enter facility information. Our program takes the CPT-4 codes which our coders assign and translates them into the hospital specific CDM codes for transmission and insertion into the hospital system. The hospital specific CDM codes are transparent to the coder and therefore not even displayed. Depending on the requirements of the hospital, any number of CPT codes may be selected on the coding screen. Additionally, admitting and final diagnosis codes may be entered. Once the patient information is submitted, the data is saved, and the hospital coder can enter the next patient. Upon completion, the files are archived, encrypted, and made available to the hospital for transmission to the health care providers. PBC can easily accommodate any format and layout as specified by the hospital client. Importantly, PBC validations include: Valid ICD-9 Code, Patient Number and Valid Date of Service.
